Safety Coordinator

Job Title: Safety CoordinatorJob Description The Safety Coordinator will focus on creating and enforcing a culture of health and safety for employees, subcontractors, and the general public on project sites. This role requires a strong, safety-oriented individual who will collaborate with the Operations team to ensure a work environment that prioritizes accident prevention and risk mitigation. The Safety Coordinator will also provide training and direction to on-site staff on safety items and plans. Responsibilities Monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and employees. Discuss safety with on-site Subcontractors Supervisory Personnel. Coordinate with Project Supervision to ensure the use of necessary personal protective equipment and safety materials. Record and forward copies of all safety-related meetings, programs, safety pre-plans, inspections, correspondence, directives, citations, etc., to the Safety Director for tracking. Coordinate responses and compliance with requirements of inspection reports from the insurance company. Conduct documented Project Safety and Health Inspections. Investigate all injuries and review all accident reports, coordinating corrective measures with employees or Subcontractor Personnel. Keep current all required safety documents and literature. Monitor protection of the public by minimizing construction hazards. Monitor maintenance of adequate first aid supplies. Maintain OSHA 300 log of injuries and illnesses. Implement safety policies, procedures, and programs. Work directly with the Safety Manager, project managers, and superintendents to ensure safety is built into every project. Coordinate compliance with Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plans. Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Ability to manage/administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse program, investigate/report on injuries/illnesses/near misses, and perform other various safety functions on-site. Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing safety efforts on large construction projects. Experience being a project manager on data center, mission critical, or hi-tech projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Multi-family construction experience preferred. Prior field experience preferred. Ability to work with all construction groups: management, owners, trades, and subcontractors. Experience with project management, construction management, RFI, design, project coordination, project engineering, compliance, health & safety, safety procedures, safety audit. Great communication skills to work in a team setting. Punctuality. Work Environment The work environment includes the Scottsdale office and Mesa project site. The role involves engaging with various construction groups and requires adherence to safety protocols and procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
