Outreach Director

OUTREACH DIRECTOR The Outreach Director helps cultivate relationships that sustain and expand our mission. They lead external communication, donor development, and coordination of partnerships, especially the weekly Common Meal. The Outreach Director tells the story of Alton Mission and its members in compelling ways that invite people into deeper connection through giving, partnership, and shared community life. Key Responsibilities Communication and Community Engagement Manage website, newsletter, social media, traditional media, branding, etc. Maintain relationships with churches, nonprofits, businesses, volunteers, and community partners that lead to stronger partnerships Donor Development Assist in implementing development strategy and upcoming capital campaign Deepen donor relationships, from nurturing prospective donors to thanking and honoring current ones Help donors connect more deeply to the mission and work of addressing poverty and homelessness Partner Coordination Coordinate Common Meal, including organizing Alton Mission members, coordinating with outside groups, and managing the practical side of hospitality Help foster an atmosphere of dignity, belonging, mutual care, and connection that moves beyond typical charity models Qualifications Strong alignment with the mission and values of Alton Mission Excellent organizational, relational, and communication skills Experience with volunteer coordination, development, and community engagement Comfortable engaging people from diverse socioeconomic, racial, and religious backgrounds Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to execute Compensation and Schedule Compensation: $25-30 per hour as part time (up to 20 hours per week) 1099 contractor Schedule: Flexible with participation in Sunday Common Meal and worship To Apply Please send resume and cover letter describing your interest in the role and connection to the mission to Peter Hough View email address on click.appcast.io.
