Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Associate to join a well-known construction company in Kansas City. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to efficient financial operations within a dynamic organization committed to accuracy and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify vendor invoices using the accounting system.
- Enter job invoices and pay applications
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger with general ledger entries
- Prepare and schedule payments via checks, ACH transfers, or electronic payment systems
- Maintain accurate vendor records, update master files, and handle inquiries professionally.
- Track and save incoming lien waivers
- Collect liven waivers and other compliance documents
- Data entry of accounting information into new system
- Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries related to accounts payable transactions.
Experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles within a corporate environment.
- Construction experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Computerease, Timberline, CMIC or similar construction software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
