Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid state license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Conscious sedation experience Vent management experience Telemetry experience Epic experience Description: 1st timer in Progressive Care Unit. Days required with every other weekend commitment. Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Expected patient ratios are 1:3. 2 years of experience required. BCLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications preferred. Skills required include: - Conscious sedation - Ventilator management - Telemetry monitoring - Understanding of dysrhythmias - Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips - Insulin drip titration - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care/management - Use of rapid response/code teams - Peripheral line care/management Unit details: High acuity, fast-paced progressive care unit. Daily census averages 18 patients. Provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, stroke, COVID, and renal failure. Compliance note: Candidates must complete necessary credentialing processes promptly. References required must include two professional references, one from a managerial capacity. Must have experience from an accredited nursing program.
