Staff Research Associate ObGyn-CRS-Core Full Time 84688BR Job Summary The Staff Research Associate will assist in the analysis of drugs, pharmaceuticals, and environmental chemicals from samples collected in various clinical and environmental biomonitoring research studies referred to our laboratory's recharge system. This position will be also responsible for receiving, processing, storing and archiving samples and running them on the liquid chromatography- tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and liquid chromatography- quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-QTOF/MS). The incumbent will be also responsible for the analysis of the raw data we generate from LC-MS runs and the preparation of analysis reports we submit to our collaborators. The Staff Research Associate will also assist in the development and validation of new methods required of some our research projects. All of the above will be under the general supervision of the supervisor. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $31.04 (Hourly Rate). Zion, and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital campuses; the Betty Irene Moore Women's Hospital at Mission Bay; as well as satellite locations throughout the Bay Area; with an annual operating budget of approximately $150 million. Required Qualifications BA/BS in Chemistry or related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong background in analytical and organic chemistry. Familiarity with sample preparation protocols required for chromatographic applications. Computer software skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Experience in the operation of chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments.
