Tony’s Market Job DescriptionTitleSenior AccountantDepartment(s)AccountingReports toControllerJob summaryResponsible for functional areas of the accounting department while ensuring accuracy, consistency and the integrity of the accounting department.Summary of essential job functionsImmediately greet all customers and ensure extraordinary customer service.Devises and installs general accounting systems and proceduresComplies reports on cash receipts, expenditures and other financial reportsMay direct the work of a part time lower level clerk in a lead capacity onlyMaintains complete records cash books, daily journals and ledgers to document financial transactions.Examines and verifies data, distributes and posts same to proper accounts.Prepares bank deposits, disbursement vouchers, customer’s statements, payroll checks, etc.Prepares preliminary matter and assists with major audits.Knowledge of accounting reporting on a daily, monthly and yearly basis.Reviews all reports and graphs.Performs all A/P and A/R functions.Assists Controller in preparation of company financials and tax reporting.Maintains and generates required financial and operational reports and spreadsheets.Assists other departments as needed or assigned by supervisor.Prepares and understands all reports and graphs.Performs all duties with minimal supervision.Able to prepare sales tax returns.Responsible for maintaining and updating all accounting data accurately.Some basic collection duties.Verify and prepare bank deposits for all locations.Weekend work may be required.May be scheduled to work during any of the three shifts in a 24 hour period.Complete specials projects and other duties as assigned.Standard job functionsUphold the 5 guiding principles of the companySupport goals and vision of CEOConsistently present a professional personal image and abide by the company’s uniform policyMaintain safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environmentComply with all regulatory rules and regulations including HACCP, OSHA, Dept. of Labor, Weights and Measures and local food and sanitation laws.Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekendsRegular and predictable attendanceKnowledge, skills and abilities requiredStrong interpersonal and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask and use organizational skillsProficient computer skills using Word and Excel #J-18808-Ljbffr
