This position involves a combination of technical and problem-solving skills to maintain, repair, and install plant equipment and systems. The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance operations to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.Responsibilities:Performing Maintenance and Repairs: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in plant machinery, equipment, and systems. This may involve reading technical manuals and utilizing computer software for diagnostics.Preventive Maintenance: Implement and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal efficiency and safety. This includes performing routine tasks like cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery.Inspecting and Monitoring: Regularly inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure they meet safety and performance standards.Installation: Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and ensure a clean and safe work environment. Working outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, heat and cold temperatures.Noise and Vibration: Machinery and equipment can produce high levels of noise and vibration, potentially impacting hearing and comfort.Working in Confined and Difficult Spaces: Accessing equipment for maintenance may require working in confined spaces, tight areas, or at heights, including on ladders and elevated platforms.Potential for Unpleasant Odors and Substances: Depending on the plant's operations, technicians might encounter unpleasant odors or objectionable substances.Importance of Safety: Given the potential environmental hazards, safety is a crucial aspect of this job.
