Medical Support Assistant

The Advance Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) is responsible for assuring accurate, complete, and timely appointment management and the coordination of all administrative information between the professional staff and the patient. The AMSA provides essential administrative clinic management and scheduling support to Physicians, Physician's Assistants, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Dietitians, BH, Social Workers, and other administrative and professional staff throughout the service area to include the emergency department. Duties listed below but not limited to:

• Administrative scheduling and appointment coordination for diagnostic testing, and consultative appointments, diagnostic and medical procedures for multiple clinical services.
• Proficient in typing, possessing speed, accuracy, and proper grammar, due to the significant amount of documentation.
• Responsible for greeting, receiving, monitoring virtual Veterans and routing all F2F Veterans who report to the facilities for scheduled and unscheduled examinations, procedures, and appointments, ensuring that the patients are electronically checked in for their appointments.
• Responsible for updating all information.
• Demonstrates the ability to anticipate problems, prevent their recurrence, brainstorm solutions, and recommend changes for program improvement when indicated through discussion with peers, the Supervisor and other team members.

Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm, rotating shifts and possible weekends
