• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in acute care setting; travel candidates must meet experience requirements for first-time travelers

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed stroke and medical-surgical unit, managing acute conditions such as AFIB, DKA, HTN, COPD, and post-cardiac catheterization patients
• Monitor and titrate IV medications including Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required for experience waiver)
• Manage complex procedures such as chest tubes, tracheostomies, and lumbar drains (preferred experience)
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to start; support patient safety and diagnostics
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalist, OT, PT, and ST staff
• Chart patient progress using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Support and adapt to unit needs, including float assignments to stroke and MedSurg units as scheduled

What You Need

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact license eligible
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Skills: IV management, titratable medications, EKG competency, and patient assessment
• Preferred: experience with chest tubes, trach patients, peritoneal dialysis, CSF drains
