The right person will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, building trust, listening first, and partnering closely with leadership to make meaningful improvements where they matter most. Position Summary: The Vice President of Human Resources will lead all aspects of the HR function across multiple manufacturing and operational sites. This individual will serve as a strategic business partner while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day execution of HR initiatives. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, practical HR expertise, exceptional recruiting and retention capabilities, and the ability to navigate a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has experience leading HR in a manufacturing setting, managing a small team of HR professionals, and developing scalable people practices that support business growth. This leader must be able to recognize organizational dynamics, read the room, take direction from executive leadership, and influence through relationships rather than authority. A key priority upon joining will be building out the HR support structure in Texas, including the hiring of 2–3 HR team members to support the organization’s growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Strategic HR Leadership Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute people strategies aligned with business objectives. Provide practical HR guidance and recommendations that support operational success and organizational growth. Build credibility and trust across all levels of the organization through a collaborative, service-oriented approach. Understand and embrace the company's family-owned culture while helping strengthen HR programs and processes. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Lead enterprise-wide recruiting efforts for manufacturing, operations, and corporate functions. Develop proactive workforce planning strategies to support current and future staffing needs. Improve recruiting effectiveness, candidate experience, and hiring manager engagement. Immediately assess staffing needs and recruit 2–3 HR team members in Texas to strengthen HR support capabilities. Employee Engagement & Retention Design and implement retention strategies that improve employee satisfaction and reduce turnover. Partner with site leaders to identify engagement opportunities and address workforce challenges. Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement. HR Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all locations. Develop and maintain HR policies, practices, and procedures that support business needs while minimizing risk. Provide leadership in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution. Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, including HR Generalists and future HR support staff. Develop talent within the HR function and create a strong service-oriented HR team. Collaborate closely with plant and operational leadership to ensure HR remains connected to front-line business realities. Qualifications: Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including senior-level HR responsibilities. Proven experience within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or similarly demanding operational environment. Experience leading and developing small HR teams. Demonstrated success in recruitment, retention, employee relations, and HR operations. Multi-site HR leadership experience preferred. Willingness and ability to travel regularly to support operations across multiple states. Must be flexible to travel to sites in 5 states. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices. Practical, common-sense approach to problem solving. Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and adapt communication styles accordingly. Strong business partnership and influencing skills. High emotional intelligence and exceptional interpersonal skills. Comfortable balancing strategic planning with tactical execution. Ability to build upon existing strengths rather than pursuing unnecessary organizational disruption.
