Lead Automation Maintenance Technician The Lead Automation Maintenance Technician leads a team of technicians in maintaining and repairing Symbotic’s advanced robotic and automated systems. This role requires expertise in automated adapters, vertical lifts, robotic vehicles, and associated control systems, ensuring continuous operation and system reliability. Responsibilities Perform inspections on Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, automated robotic vehicles, and Automated Adapters/Lifts. Adjust, calibrate, repair, replace, or modify system components to support continuous operation. Process and monitor the flow of goods through the system, optimizing throughput and cases per hour. Troubleshoot robotic vehicle anomalies and stoppages using schematic and wiring diagrams and advanced test equipment. Document maintenance activities accurately in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Communicate production‑impacting issues and recommend corrective actions to team members. Clean up work areas after repairs, removing replaced parts. Recover automated robotic vehicles within the Symbotic Matrix select system, working in restrictive environments. Perform minor utility work such as machining holes, cutting steel, aligning sensors, and attaching Unistrut. Execute additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree and/or certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical automation systems. Proficiency in performing all required inspection functions. Strong electro‑mechanical skills and experience with PLC knowledge and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret electro‑mechanical diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams. Work Environment Approximately 75% of the time spent on a construction site; personal protective equipment required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toe boots, eye protection, ear protection, fall protection). Work may involve stairs, railings, and heights up to 45 feet with restrictive spaces up to 24 inches. Temperature range: 32°–105° Fahrenheit. Physical demands: lift up to 50 lbs, move up to 80 lbs, stand/walk up to 10–12 hours, frequent crawling, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and repetitive hand and foot movements. Must comply with all safety protocols, including lock‑out/tag‑out and fall protection. Benefits Base salary range: $37.00–$38.00 per hour.
