Test Development Manager Company: Ergo/NTN Job Type: FT (Full-time) Reports to: Director of Professional Services Work Location: Remote (AZ, AL, OR, GA , TX, PA, MD, VA, MI, OH, NV, WA) Salary Range: $75,000 to $100,000 Job Summary The Test Development Manager oversees the design and quality assurance of all assessment materials while leading a team of assessment professionals. This position is responsible for the end-to-end development of assessment tools, including job analyses, multiple-choice exam creation, assessment center exercise design, and preparation of candidate materials, and conducts final reviews of all testing materials to ensure adherence to professional standards and client requirements. In their leadership capacity, this role directly supervises staff in accordance with organizational policies, assigns team members to projects based on skills and workload, establishes performance goals, conducts ongoing evaluations, and provides necessary training and coaching. The Test Development Manager also works closely with Consulting, Client Services, Reporting, Products and Services and Accounting to guarantee the delivery of high-quality work. This position requires up to 15% travel. Key Responsibilities Team Management Directly supervise employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Assign staff to projects. Set performance goals for team and individual employees. Evaluate employee performance on an ongoing basis. Train and coach employees as needed. Address employee complaints and resolve problems as needed. Test & Assessment Development Develop and administer job analyses, including task and KSA lists, creating online surveys, interviewing SMEs, and producing job analysis reports. Develop book-referenced multiple-choice written exams. Develop assessment center exercises. Develop candidate preparation materials; conduct orientations as needed. Contribute to product development projects. Produce all test materials required for the administration of exams. Create and administer surveys as needed. Lead client/SME meetings including (job analysis, test development, etc.) Quality Assurance & Review Conduct reviews and edits of all tests and administration documents developed by the team (assessment center editing and written exam editing). Review/validate developed test content, as needed, for quality and standards. Assessment Administration & Reporting Conduct assessment center score entries. Prepare candidate feedback reports. Prepare documents needed for rater training. Assist in the administration of promotional exams (assessment center and written exams). Assist with exam protest processes. Analyze item analysis and test results and prepare custom reports. Oversee and monitor database(s) to ensure accuracy and adoption/usage. Provide client-facing responses to technical questions. Create final/validation reports. Work with the professional services team to ensure effective development, administration, and coordination to satisfy project scope. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology is preferred. 5+ years of work experience preferred. Experience working in public safety promotional testing preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in statistical analysis programs (e.g., SPSS, R). Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong attention to detail and editing/revising skills. Strong time management skills. Knowledge of professional test development, data analysis, and validation methodologies. Ability to troubleshoot and develop strategies to solve problems. Outgoing, comfortable and effective in professional settings. Takes a proactive approach to completing tasks; actively searches for ways to help others. Ability to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively independently and in a team setting. Flexible; adapts well to changing circumstances.
