About the Role

SmartScale360 is hiring an experienced US Bookkeeper to support U.S.-based franchise businesses through accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. You'll help ensure financial records remain organized, compliant, and up to date while supporting multiple business entities.

What You'll Do

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using QuickBooks Online (QBO) for multiple U.S.-based franchise businesses
• Process and reconcile financial transactions, including bank deposits, bank feeds, bank accounts, credit cards, and loans
• Record payroll journal entries from third-party payroll providers
• Prepare recurring journal entries for commissions, COGS, royalties, advertising, depreciation, interest, and other month-end adjustments
• Support the month-end close process and ensure financial records are accurate and complete
• Generate Profit & Loss (P&L) reports and assist with financial reporting and job profitability tracking
• Communicate with franchise owners regarding bookkeeping, account inquiries, and financial records
• Assist with compliance documentation, including insurance audits and tax preparation support
• Coordinate vendor purchases and monitor orders for job materials and supplies when needed
• Provide administrative and operational support as business needs evolve

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience supporting U.S. businesses (franchise accounting experience is a plus)
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting, general ledger management, and bookkeeping best practices
• Familiarity with compliance documentation, audits, or tax preparation support
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a remote environment
• Experience supporting franchise or multi-location businesses is a plus
• Familiarity with ServiceMinder or similar field service software is an advantage

Work-From-Home Requirements

• Laptop/PC: Intel i5 (or equivalent) with at least 8GB RAM
• Internet: Stable 100 Mbps connection
• Backup: Secondary internet connection, device, and power source

Schedule

• Work Schedule: To be confirmed by the client
• Availability: Must be available to work any day of the week
• Shift: Must be flexible to work U.S. business hours based on operational needs
