Accounts Receivable Specialist (Open) Location: Tampa, FL - West - Management - Regional Office Job Details 100% onsite in Tampa, FL Hours: 8am to 5pm Responsibilities Under the direction of the VP of Finance, responsible for customer service and collection of accounts receivable within the Region, maintaining a healthy Accounts Receivable position. Maintain consistent high‑quality work; ensure proper steps are taken daily to protect Airgas' interests in receivables and reduce the risk of bad debt write‑off. Adhere to South Region/Division protocols and achieve assigned metrics for outbound calls, order release, worklist compliance to promote prompt payment of outstanding invoices and maximize cash flow. Provide day‑to‑day customer service. Work internally across the Region and externally directly with customers to reduce total AR and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). Maintain quality relationships with branch managers and involve regional managers when necessary, keeping them informed of issues at all times. Engage appropriate field personnel as needed to expedite resolution of outstanding payments. Communicate with cash applications to ensure payments are properly applied and resolve potential issues. Complete administrative work for the department with strong compliance to deadlines and prompt response. Maximize collection effort in accordance with Airgas Credit & Collection Policy. Maintain a fast pace for time‑sensitive collection efforts on the unique portfolio of small accounts. Reconcile difficult or disputed accounts; forward calls when customers request escalation. Communicate and escalation of potential risks to the VP of Finance. Identify issues with billing, pricing, and cylinders that cause customer service problems and work to resolve such issues. Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED required. At least 4 years of prior experience in credit & collections, accounts receivable, finance and/or related field. Proven track record of success in a high‑volume AR role. Proficient in Google suite applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). A strong customer service mindset and ability to use collaborative and non‑adversarial approaches in achieving diverse goals; ability to build positive relationships and strive to understand customers' needs, both internal and external. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in Business, Accounting or related field preferred. Prior experience with SAP or an ERP system highly preferred.
