This role supports the advancement of innovative early psychosis and substance use prevention and treatment programs through clinical training, consultation, research, and program development.
The position works at the intersection of clinical practice, implementation science, and community engagement to improve outcomes for youth and young adults.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, healthcare professionals, families, and community partners to strengthen evidence-based care delivery.
The role involves designing training initiatives, evaluating program effectiveness, and integrating feedback to continuously improve services.
You will contribute to statewide and national efforts focused on accessible, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed mental health care.

Accountabilities:
The Clinical Training and Program Development Specialist will provide clinical expertise, training, consultation, and program improvement support for early psychosis intervention and substance use services. The role requires collaboration with diverse stakeholders, integration of research and community insights, and leadership in developing effective clinical practices.
- Deliver clinical training, technical assistance, and consultation related to substance use prevention and intervention within early psychosis care programs at local, regional, state, and national levels.
- Support fidelity review processes and implementation strategies to strengthen evidence-based early psychosis intervention services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate program effectiveness, incorporate emerging research, and develop continuous improvement strategies.
- Engage with individuals receiving services, families, support networks, and community organizations using culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches.
- Integrate participant and stakeholder feedback into program development, service delivery improvements, and clinical outcome strategies.
- Design and support community education initiatives, research projects, training materials, procedures, and operational improvements aligned with program goals.
- Contribute to publications, reports, and other knowledge-sharing activities as needed.
- Support initiatives focused on equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and improving access to care for diverse populations.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings strong clinical research experience, expertise in mental health and substance use services, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse communities and professional teams.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of clinical research coordination experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 9 years of clinical research coordination experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent and young adult development, family systems, group dynamics, and evidence-based clinical practices.
- Experience working with DSM-5 diagnoses, mental health treatment interventions, and substance use conditions affecting adolescents and young adults.
- Experience providing person-centered, strengths-based support in collaboration with individuals, families, and community partners.
- Background in integrating participant feedback, research findings, and community data into service improvement initiatives.
- Training and experience in substance use differential diagnosis and treatment.
- Knowledge of early psychosis intervention models, implementation science, and clinical program development.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ communities, culturally specific groups, and geographically underserved areas.
- Strong understanding of cultural humility, equity practices, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Ability to develop and adapt clinical training programs, policies, and care models centered on lived experiences.
- Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- CADC I, II, or III certification.
- Active professional license or eligibility for licensure in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree, SIPS certification, experience delivering coordinated specialty care for early psychosis, and experience facilitating family psychoeducation programs.
