Summer Bilingual Assistant Site Coordinator - Somali Speaking (3433)

Job Details Job Location: Columbus, OH 43223 Salary Range: $19.00 - $19.00 Hourly Basic Function: Responsible for working with youth in the early stages of learning English, assisting with site staff supervision, recruiting students, facilitating the youth program activities, maintaining site, and performing program-related assignments as needed by the Site Coordinator. This is for our Trevitt Heights site located at 940 Caldwell Pl, Columbus, OH 43203. Responsibilities Support teachers/tutors in meeting the needs of students in the early stages of learning English. Help the new immigrant student assimilate to their new life in the U.S. Assist with management of day-to-day operations of the program sites, including organization, maintenance, and safety. Assist with maintenance of student files, progress reports, attendance, and other necessary participant documents. Assist with establishing and maintaining relationships and communication with youth and parents regarding student’s needs. Assist with establishing and maintaining communication with the participant’s school regarding student’s needs. Assist with coordinating and recruiting tutors and tutor volunteers. Assist with planning curriculum activities and supervising implementation. Perform other duties as required by Site Coordinator. Attend staff meetings, training session, and program special events. Minimum of High School diploma or GED, with experience working with youth, and willingness to continue professional development.
