Position Overview Catawba Animal Clinic in Rock Hill, South Carolina, is looking for an outstanding Associate Veterinarian. The ideal candidate is passionate about high‑quality veterinary care and possesses excellent communication skills to build lasting client relationships. You will work with experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, collaborating closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director. What We Offer Competitive salary with production bonus (no negative accrual options) Signing, retention, and relocation packages up to $100,000 Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid parental leave (birth, adoption, foster) 401(k) with discretionary contribution Team member pet discounts Emotional wellbeing support (Calm app access and 24/7 EAP) CE stipends and career development resources Grant Circle — a relief fund for personal hardship Local hospital culture backed by national resources Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Client communication and education Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintaining accurate medical records Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds to ensure high standards are upheld Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution Current State Veterinary License DEA registration must be obtained and maintained 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care Client communication skills, including rapport building and clear explanations Ability to handle stressed, ill, or in‑pain animals Physical ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals, including cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological examinations, and prescribing appropriate treatment Problem‑solving ability related to high‑quality hospital management Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism in giving and receiving constructive feedback Business acumen: understanding hospital management and finances Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions Commitment to continuing education and facilitating learning for others Pay Range $130,000 — $150,000 USD EEO Statement PetVet is an equal opportunity employer.
