PT Veterinarian - Catawba Animal Clinic

Position Overview Part‑time Veterinarian at Catawba Animal Clinic in Red Hill, North Carolina. Maintain balance with predictable hours, consistent home hospital assignment, and no after‑hours emergency call. Support from national resources and a collaborative team. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Client communication and education Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintaining accurate medical records Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds when possible Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university Current State Veterinary License DEA registration maintained 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care Excellent communication with medical and hospital staff Client communication skills, ability to elicit information, establish rapport, and provide explanations Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed, ill, or painful pets Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl if required Perform moderately physically demanding tasks and lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Advanced clinical knowledge in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological examinations and diagnosis Problem‑solving for management challenges in a veterinary hospital Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism and constructive feedback within a high‑quality team Business acumen: understanding of veterinary hospital management and finances Ethics: application of ethical principles to patient care decisions Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of learning for others What We Offer Signing and retention incentives up to $50,000 Continuing education stipend Licensing and dues reimbursement 401(k) participation Team member pet discounts Emotional wellbeing support, including Calm app access and 24/7 Employee Assistance Program Supportive home hospital environment backed by national resources and a strong Culture of Care Part‑time compensation prorated based on experience and hours Equal Opportunity Employer PetVet is an equal opportunity employer.
