Job Duties: Administers prescription and over-the-counter medications, first aid, and triages to clients as needed on the shift, under the supervision and in collaboration with appropriate medical staff. Perform visual inspection of medication logs to assure that client medications are administered at scheduled times Addresses sick calls and provides treatment under the Physician's Standing Orders. Completes the medical intake process including measuring vital signs and initial health Maintains all medical documentation, medical history, and file on each client and abides by HIPAA compliance rules and Designates appropriate client referrals to the contracted Obtains blood and urine samples, processes laboratory requests and coordinates currier services through the contracted Orders and maintains stock of prescription medications, vaccines and medical Performs daily assessment of program medical issues and consults or coordinates with appropriate medical staff member as required to ensure medical department operations are Responds to interventions and monitors resident physical status during the Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care. Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills. Who We’re Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: Compassionate Dependable Patient Team-Oriented Service-Focused Professional Positive Committed to Helping Others Qualifications Education and Experience Required: High School Diploma or GED Certified Medical Assistant OR Medical Technician (preferred) Other Qualifications: At least twenty-one (21) years of age Must have a valid Driver's License Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing. Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors. Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records. Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department. Schedule • Full-Time • Shift: WEEKEND SHIFT - Friday-Sunday, 12-hour shifts & Tuesdays 8:30am-12:30pm Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Join Us in Building Better Futures!
