General Warehouse Worker 3rd Shift

Job Title: General Warehouse Worker (Night Shift) Location: Atlantic Tire Distributors, Charlotte, NC. Shift: 8:00PM-4:00AM, Monday-Friday. Paid time off Paid holidays 401(k) with company matching Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Company paid life insurance plan Company paid short term disability Summary Manually and using powered equipment, move tires and stock materials in to and out of racked bins in a warehouse environment; perform other general labor as well as other duties as assigned by the manager. (You must not be afraid of heights, as use of an order picker at height is part of this position.) Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (include but not limited to) Operating a forklift and related equipment to load and unload trucks and move material within the warehouse. Review shipments and advise management of shortages or damaged shipments. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets, work tickets or handheld scanner. Maintaining warehouse area in a neat and organized manner. Compliance with OSHA regulations and safety requirements pertaining to this position. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Time Management - Managing one’s own time. Extent Flexibility - the ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Static Strength - the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment - Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and order pickers. Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials. Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluation results to choose the best solution and solve problems. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The environment may or may not be air conditioned/heated seasonally. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Education High school or equivalency, and/or related experience is preferred but not required. Experience operating a forklift is also preferred but not required.
