Location: Avera Queen of Peace Hospital Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: 7:15 am – 72 hrs/2 weeks; every 6th weekend/holiday/call rotation Pay Range: $32.50 – $48.50 (actual rate depends on experience) Position Highlights May be eligible for $10,000 sign‑on bonus Student Loan Repayment Program – extra payment of $167 monthly up to $10,000 from Avera A Brief Overview Delivers Nursing Care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the healthcare team. Coordinate with other healthcare providers; provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; consult with physicians. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; confer with family and friends; establish nursing diagnosis, objectives, and interventions. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instruct patients, families, and friends to understand their condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answer questions and provide resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against standards, reviewing records, noting changes, re‑evaluating objectives, and modifying the plan as needed. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled‑substance regulations; adhere to organization policies and legal regulations; alert others regarding potential concerns. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) – active license in the state of practice. 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment (preferred). Ability to work the specified hours, communicate effectively, and satisfy visual and hearing requirements. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform essential job functions.
