This is a full-time 40 hour per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday work hours 7am-3:30pm Wednesday 7am-5pm. No call, no holiday

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs vascular, non-vascular, and/or neurointerventional procedures.
• Demonstrates basic clinical competency in vascular, non-vascular, and/or neurointerventional procedures across all locations and patient populations. Selects appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care. Administers contrast media in accordance with facility policies. Participates in and/or performs procedure-related patient care activities and physiologic monitoring under the direction of a physician. Utilizes sterile technique and functions as either a scrub or circulating technologist, as needed.
• Participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives designed to enhance workflows, patient experience, quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and prepared work environment, including cleaning and preparing patient rooms. Maintains supplies and inventory within the assigned area.
• Communicates effectively with patients to obtain medical histories, answer questions, and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
• Ensures the proper maintenance and operation of equipment by performing quality control activities and promptly reporting equipment or environmental issues.
• Provides patient education and support, including preparing patients for procedures and addressing physical and psychological needs. Escalates concerns through appropriate channels as needed.
• Prioritizes patient flow and coordinates care through consistent and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Documents patient care activities in electronic health record systems and distributes final images to the PACS system in a timely manner for interpretation.
• Consistently acts and communicates professionally, embodying the organization's SPIRIT values and fostering a respectful and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues. Adheres to the ARRT Standards of Ethics.
• Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards while maintaining compliance with federal, state, professional, and accreditation requirements.
• Follows direction from leadership, ensuring adherence to established protocols, maintaining patient flow, and seeking clarification when necessary.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology required; or
• Vocational/Technical Diploma or Certificate in Radiologic Technology (awarded before January 1, 2015) from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) required.

Experience

• Six (6) months of experience in an interventional radiology environment (e.g., Vascular Interventional Radiology [VIR], Neurointerventional Radiology [NIR], or Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory) preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of hire required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the applicable state (Maryland or Virginia) required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification for healthcare providers, including BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), through either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross, required within 90 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of and ability to perform, or learn to perform, procedures including angiograms, angioplasties, embolizations, dilations, biopsies, fibrinolysis, venograms, and myelograms.
• Ability to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations.
• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry proficiency.
• Familiarity with computerized clinical information systems, including Clinicians View, Chart View, and PACS.
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and confidentiality policies.

This position has a hiring range of USD $38.48 - USD $62.52 /Hr.
