Reception IPhysicians East, P.A. is a team of skilled healthcare professionals united to meet the challenge of delivering quality, cost-efficient, comprehensive healthcare to the people of Eastern North Carolina.Full-time role, based at our Greenville location. Monday-Friday, 7:30am – 4pm. Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care of, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner. Reports to the Operations Manager. No supervision exercised. Requires sitting for long periods of time. Working in office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer keyboard. Work is performed in an office environment. This position involves frequent contact with staff, patients, and the public.About the RoleThe reception position is the first person with whom a patient or patient's family member will interact either upon arrival at the practice or via phone conversations prior to the visit. The reception staff are responsible for ensuring optimization of the patient visit by positively impacting the patients care through knowledgeable, reliable, and courteous interactions. Further, the reception staff ensures the accuracy of the patient's demographic and insurance information. The reception staff works closely with all care team members and is responsible for performing a variety of office functions including answering incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments, greeting patients and family members, and answering patient/procedure related questions.ResponsibilitiesGreet, check-in, and direct patients.Verify and enter patient demographic and insurance information.Scan documents into procedure software/EHR.Keep all department desktops current.Notify clinical team of patient scheduling changes.Schedule, coordinate, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments.Relay necessary messages to staff via the EHR.Direct patients with delinquent accounts to patient representatives for financial agreements and billing questions.Serve as a back up for the Surgical Coordinator as needed.Keep forms and supplies up to date and ordered.Keep work area neat and orderly.Maintain a team approach with staff and patients.Work as a contributing member of a team to keep the department running smoothly.Participate in in-service education, staff meetings and other continuing education programs to maintain optimal technical knowledge.Adhere to department and company policies. Maintain confidentiality.Assist with other duties or projects as needed.Candidate RequirementsHigh School diploma required. One or more years of secretarial/medical assistant experience.
