Overview Shifts Available : Days Employment Type : Full Time Hours: 12 -hour shifts – 6:00am to 6:00pm - schedule rotates bi-weekly Location : Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL We are seeking a Diet Clerk, sometimes referred to as Nutrition Clerk or Diet ary Clerk . U nder the direction of the dietitian, the Diet Clerk performs clinical support tasks related to reviewing and approving therapeutic menu selections. The Diet Clerk will also ensure patient trays are accurate and served at appropriate temperatures . Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Review and update physician diet orders in the hospital’s EHR to ensure each patient receives meals matching their prescribed diet Assist patients with menu selections, print and distribute menus, and make substitutions when necessary Communicate diet change, allerg y , and preference between nursing units, dietitians, and kitchen staff Enter and maintain meal orders, admissions, and discharges in the dietary computer system to keep records accurate Ensure diet accuracy, follow food safety standards, appropriate temperatures of patient trays and support quality checks within the nutrition department Qualifications County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current AA Degree in Food Science/Nutrition, preferred One (1) year of healthcare experience working with modified diets, preferred Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: Employment Status Full Time Shift Days Equal Employment Opportunity Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
