To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for processing, tracking, and documenting the inbound and outbound movement of Army equipment and materiel at a contractor-managed turn-in site. This role ensures compliance with U.S. Army supply regulations, Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR), and contract requirements, while supporting accurate property accountability and efficient turn-in operations. The clerk works closely with warehouse, supply, and transportation personnel to ensure timely and accurate shipping and receiving activities.ResponsibilitiesReceiving Operations: Process and verify incoming equipment from Army units in accordance with AR 710-2, AR 735-5, and DA PAM 710-2-1.Match items to turn-in documentation (DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts) for accuracy and completeness.Update Army logistics systems (GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP) to reflect receipt transactions.Stage and transfer items to designated warehouse or yard locations.Shipping Operations: Prepare and process outbound shipments of Army equipment for transfer, redistribution, or disposal.Generate and review shipping documentation (DD Form 1348-1A, bills of lading, TCMDs, DD Form 1149).Coordinate with transportation teams for scheduling, loading, and dispatch of shipments.Verify load plans, ensure cargo is properly packaged, marked, and secured.Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate logs of all inbound and outbound shipments.Input transactions into Army-approved logistics and transportation systems (e.g., GCSS-Army, TC-AIMS II).File and maintain shipping, receiving, and discrepancy reports in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and government auditing standards.Coordination & Customer Service: Work with Army unit supply personnel to resolve documentation or shipment discrepancies.Coordinate with Supply Technicians, Material Coordinators, and Warehouse Specialists to ensure smooth equipment flow.Communicate shipment and receipt status to site supervisors and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).Safety & Compliance: Follow OSHA, Army, and company safety procedures during loading, unloading, and material handling.Ensure compliance with HAZMAT packaging, labeling, and transportation regulations.Maintain a clean, safe shipping/receiving work area.Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED is preferred.2–4 years of shipping, receiving, or supply experience preferred; or military or contractor environment experience is acceptable.Familiarity with Army supply/transportation documentation and systems highly desirable.Knowledge Requirements: Army regulations: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1.Transportation documentation and standards: DTR 4500.9-R.Army systems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP, TC-AIMS II.Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE (OF 346 licenses preferred).Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and correct documentation errors.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Physical Demands & Working EnvironmentAbility to lift to 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching.Work performed in both warehouse and field environments, indoors and outdoors.Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand or dust, confined spaces, heights, and inclement weather.Periodic overtime required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Long, strenuous hours and ability to work under pressure.Frequent interaction with customers.Exposure to heat, cold, dust, and adverse weather conditions.Requires stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, and prolonged sitting.PPE required in designated areas (head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protection).Must comply with OSHA, EPA, fire regulations, and company safety rules.Must have a Real ID.Must have a valid driver's license w/proof of vehicle insurance.Must be able to travel within the US when required.Pay & BenefitsUSD $19.37 Hourly.USD $5.09 Hourly.Job ID2026-24406Work TypeOn-SiteCompany DescriptionWork Where it MattersAkima Global Logistics (AGL), an Akima company, is not just another operations contractor.
