The Busser’s responsibilities include; providing water service, clearing and resetting tables, coffee service, polishing of glass and flatware, and assisting the Server to help provide an outstanding experience for all guests.

Position Requirements

• Adhere to the “Steps of Service” as outlined in the service manual.
• Have general knowledge of the menu. And be able to articulate menu descriptions.
• Be able to read dupes.
• Know all table numbers and position numbers.
• Be able to use POS system.
• Adhere to your work schedule.
• Adhere to the restaurant grooming, uniform, and hygiene standards.
• Act professional and accommodating and always maintain your composure.

During Service

• Perform assigned side work.
• Provide water service.
• Maintain water and beverage levels.
• Clearing tables between courses.
• Assist Servers with resetting table for next course.
• Reset tables for next seating in a timely manner.
• Run stock from the back-of-house to the dining room.
• Assist Runners and Servers with all food delivery.
• Make and serve all hot beverages (coffee, tea) to guests in a timely manner.
• Assist with polishing all glassware and flatware.
• Assist dishwasher in scraping plates, racking glasses and soaking flatware.
• Minimize breakage with proper handling of china and glassware.
• Clean and maintain your work area at all times.

Communication

• Communicate with your Server any guest’s needs.
• Communicate with Host Stand, as tables get ready to turn.
• Identify and report any problems to management immediately.
• Be able to answer general questions about the property, restaurant and other BLT Restaurants.
