Deployment EngineerBoston, MAJO- Under general and as-needed supervision, builds, deploys and maintains desktops in a multi-site environment, utilizing automated management tools, i.e. SCCM. Handles image maintenance and patch management for 3000+ desktops. Develops and improves automated processes to manage Windows desktop systems through the full life cycle. Develops and follows procedures as necessary to coordinate the software distribution aspect of corporate and/or IT projects.Principal Responsibilities:Responsible for creating, customizing, deploying and automating software packages using SCCMResponsible for virtualizing certain client applications using Microsoft App-VResponsible for management and distribution of monthly desktop security patches for Windows, Office, et alResponsible for creating/managing Operating System images for different hardware models supported throughout the companyPlans for software upgrades, new releases, and migration to new systemsPerform installation, maintenance and support of system softwareCreating and deploying Group Policy Objects which affect the client machines and end usersResolving relevant Help Desk tickets that are escalated to the candidates groupWorking on an infrastructure type team, interacting with several other teams, supporting at least 3,000 client machines spread geographically across multiple sites and multiple domainsJob Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems-Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 in an enterprise environmentExperience with enterprise environments with >3,000 endpointsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows automated build processes for purposes of SCCM image deployment (OSD)Working knowledge of application deployment via SCCMWorking knowledge of Windows patching via WSUS and SCCMWorking knowledge of Microsoft Active DirectoryWorking knowledge of Microsoft Group PolicyWorking knowledge of application virtualization using Microsoft App-VStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust have the ability to create clear and concise documentationProficiency with standard Microsoft Office toolsBasic Programming or scripting via PowerShell, VBScript,.NET, etcEducation and Experience:Bachelors degree in information systems, computer science or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience3-5 years of experienceMicrosoft certifications and training preferred but not required
