Warehouse Associate

JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials and products accurately and safely. Work involves ensuring inventory integrity, maintaining an organized work environment, and supporting timely order fulfillment to meet operational and customer needs.Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The essential functions in this job description are intended only as an illustration of the various types of duties that may be performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from job performance requirements if work is similar or related to the job.Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming shipments for accuracy and damageStocks and organizes inventory in designated warehouse locationsPicks, packs, and prepares orders for shipment according to established proceduresChecks, verifies and fills customer invoicesOperates warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (as required and trained)Maintains accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems or manual logsPerforms regular inventory counts and assists with cycle counts and auditsEnsures the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsFollows all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelinesReports inventory discrepancies, damaged goods or safety concerns to supervisorsContributes ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing proceduresSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED and some administrative experience;OR a combination of experience, certification, education and training that demonstrates expertise in the related areas.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess and maintain a regular Class “E” Driver’s licensePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience in warehouse administration or a similar roleBilingual – English and SpanishKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and other office proceduresKnowledge of, or ability to learn, warehouse procedures and safety protocolsKnowledge of, or ability to learn, warehouse data systemsSkill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook and Excel) and applicable department and organization specific software; ability to learn and become proficient in the use of other specialized software as may be requiredSkill in using mathematics required for the workSkill in record-keeping and data entrySkill in organization, attention to detail, and time management with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAbility to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipmentAbility to lift or move heavy productsAbility to follow oral and written instructionsAbility to review, compile and organize forms, documents and related records for efficient processing and ready retrievalAbility to work cooperatively as a member of a service-oriented teamAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and informationAbility to clearly communicate and understand information in English, orally and in writingAbility to follow public safety guidelines and protocols and perform job functions in a safe mannerAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those interacted with during work regardless of race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, genetic information, disability, political affiliation, military service, or diverse cultural and linguistic backgroundsAbility to maintain regular attendance to ensure efficient and effective performance of job dutiesAMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) REQUIREMENTS:Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors.
