Senior Accountant

Senior Staff AccountantOur client is a privately owned, growing organization seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This position will play an important role in accounts receivable, collections, cash management, tax administration, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on accounting environment.Overview Of The Senior Accountant Role:Manage the full accounts receivable process, including posting payments, account maintenance, and collectionsOversee collections of approximately $1.2M–$1.6M per month and prepare weekly cash collection reportsPerform monthly bank reconciliations for four accounts and ensure completion by the 2nd–5th business dayReconcile accounts receivable and customer accounts, researching and resolving discrepanciesSupport the month-end close process and assist with various account reconciliationsManage customer tax information through Avalara, including new customer setup and exemption certificate maintenanceProcess daily deposits and transfers between company bank accountsMonitor credit card processing and assist with daily cash managementProvide backup support for customer invoicing and other accounting functions as neededAssist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assignedPreferred Qualifications For The Senior Accountant:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred3+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closeExperience with collections and cash management preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OfficeAbility to learn and work effectively within accounting systems
