Director of Mortgage Lending

The client is seeking a Director of Mortgage Lending for the Waukesha, WI market. This executive-level role provides strategic leadership for all mortgage lending operations, including developing and executing comprehensive mortgage strategies aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, and brand. Responsibilities include partnering with leadership to determine and implement corporate culture, strategic plans, tactics, budgets, and priorities; providing executive oversight of lending operations across origination, processing, underwriting, servicing, and closing; and leading efforts to improve performance efficiency by using innovative solutions to reduce cost of origination. The role also includes developing strategies to enhance service levels, increase revenue and productivity, support solution development, and drive process improvement through planning, budget development, forecasting, and staffing to sustain growth and loan volume. The client will support steady operational management through establishing, monitoring, and reporting on key metrics and operating activity to ensure processes are efficient, effective, and compliant with applicable quality standards, laws and regulations, and investor guidelines. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, 5+ years of senior management experience in the mortgage industry, and 10+ years of technical experience in mortgage lending operations, along with the ability to lead a team, analyze complex situations, problem-solve, and develop and manage internal controls; working knowledge of conventional and government mortgage products is expected, and licensing requirements related to control person purposes must be maintained. Preferred qualifications may include experience with the Encompass platform, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Confidential
