Full Time Hospital Admissions Rep, 9:00AM -5:30PM

What You Will Do Obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information from a variety of sources, including patient interviews, physician offices, and in‑house departments. Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms. Perform required pre‑certification, credit referral, or deposit collection. Enter data in computer systems and thoroughly document any incomplete admissions/registrations in the prescribed manner. Obtain pre‑certification, referral, or authorization numbers and update the patient’s file. Notify patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors of insurance coverage issues and inform patients of co‑payments, deductibles, or deposits needed, documenting all information in the computer system. Review physician’s orders for completion and ensure all required information is listed. Complete Medicare compliance tasks and obtain ABN if necessary. Maintain knowledge of all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to insurance rules and regulations. Maintain multiple computer systems. Provide positive customer service at all times and refer unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor. Answer telephone calls, follow the pre‑established script, and provide assistance to callers. Complete all shift duties in a timely and accurate manner. Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures as defined by the customer. Type a minimum of 35 words per minute. What You Will Need High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical setting or a heavy customer service environment utilizing data entry skills, insurance or other online platforms, and various software applications. Medical terminology knowledge or ability to learn. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain it within 90 days from the start date. Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from the start date. Nice to Have 2 years of Emergency Department admitting experience. Annual salary range: $38,000.00 - $63,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, security clearances, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
