As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon03:30 PM - 11:30 PMFri11:30 PM - 07:30 AMSun03:30 PM - 11:30 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Monitor access to the shelter location, greet and screen visitors in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders when needed. Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity. Maintain a professional presence while supporting a respectful, welcoming environment for individuals and families accessing shelter services. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
