Role Description This is a full-time Family Law Attorney role based in Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work arrangement. The attorney will manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and related issues, from initial consultation through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, preparing discovery, attending court appearances, and participating in negotiation, mediation, and settlement conferences. The role involves taking and defending depositions, advising clients on legal strategy and options, and collaborating with colleagues to develop efficient, results-focused case plans. The attorney will also maintain clear, timely communication with clients, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and professional standards. Qualifications Strong foundation in litigation. Ability to analyze and address complex legal issues in divorce, custody, and support cases. Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions, including procedural and substantive filings. Experience conducting and managing depositions, including preparation of witnesses and examination strategy. Active license to practice law in Illinois and good standing with the Illinois bar. Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including clear client communication and effective courtroom presentation. Organized and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently. Commitment to ethical practice, professionalism, and maintaining confidentiality in sensitive family law matters. Experience with litigation software, case management tools, and basic office technology.
