Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists by conducting initial patient evaluations and ongoing assessments, always with empathy and professionalism.
• Implement and modify treatment plans directed by the Physical Therapist, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort while prioritizing individual patient needs.
• Instruct and demonstrate therapeutic exercises tailored specifically to each patient's condition, offering unwavering support and encouragement during their rehabilitation journey.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation, explaining these treatments to patients to enhance understanding and compliance.
• Educate patients and their families about home exercise techniques, ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to continue their rehabilitation efficiently at home.
• Diligently monitor each patient's progress and document all treatment outcomes, facilitating effective communication with the healthcare team and optimizing care strategies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create integrated care plans, ensuring seamless patient experiences and positive treatment outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous patient records that detail assessments, treatments, and progress to comply with healthcare regulations and enhance continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, those with chronic pain conditions, and elderly patients needing support to maintain mobility and independence. You'll tailor your approach to suit each patient's unique circumstances, often addressing both physical rehabilitation and emotional support.

Qualifications

• Possession of an Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a relevant physical therapy setting, such as outpatient clinics or home health.
• Demonstrated knowledge of physical therapy principles, practices, and modalities, paired with a genuine passion for patient care and rehabilitation.
• Excellent communication skills, allowing for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
