Sr. Director of Residential Services

Senior Director of Residential Services Full-Time | Exempt Lead Residential Services. Transform Lives. Orchard Village is seeking an experienced and mission‑driven Senior Director of Residential Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for our 24‑Hour and Intermittent Residential Programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This senior‑level position oversees residential operations, regulatory compliance, quality assurance initiatives, staff development, program performance, and continuous quality improvement efforts while ensuring high‑quality, person‑centered supports that promote the health, safety, welfare, and rights of those we serve. The Senior Director serves as a key leader within the organization and works collaboratively with program, clinical, nursing, quality assurance, and administrative teams to ensure excellence in service delivery. What You’ll Do Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the residential management team Ensure compliance with Illinois DHS Rule 115 & 116, HCBS Settings Rule, Medicaid Waiver requirements, CARF standards, and agency policies Lead quality assurance, risk management, auditing, corrective action planning, and regulatory readiness efforts Analyze operational trends, incidents, staffing patterns, training compliance, and service outcomes to drive continuous improvement Oversee residential program performance and support strategic planning initiatives Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, retention, onboarding, and staff development efforts Lead preparation and response efforts for DHS surveys, audits, licensing reviews, and OIG investigations Collaborate with families, guardians, nursing, behavioral health, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional client outcomes Qualifications Required Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities Illinois QIDP Certification or eligibility Knowledge of Illinois DHS regulations, Medicaid Waiver programs, HCBS requirements, and residential operations Experience leading compliance, quality assurance, and operational improvement initiatives Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and team development Preferred Masters Degree in a related field Experience with CARF accreditation standards Experience overseeing multiple residential programs or locations Skills Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Why Orchard Village?
