Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0700–1930) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a day shift ratio of 1:4–5
• Care for patients with diagnoses including total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery (lap appy, bowel resection), bariatrics, and medical overflow
• Manage post-operative patients including early ambulation, hemovacs, JP drains, and colostomies
• Administer and monitor occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN at set rates (titration not required)
• Participate in bedside shift report as a standard expectation
• Float to medical and telemetry areas as needed, supporting with medical patients in those settings

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract — additional RTO will not be approved

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Surgical or post-operative nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with early ambulation protocols
• First-time travelers will be considered
