Food Service Worker / Kitchen HelperThe Food Service Worker / Kitchen Helper at St. Patrick Catholic School supports daily cafeteria operations by assisting with food prep, light serving, cleaning, restocking, and occasional dishwashing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a steady routine, a positive school environment, and predictable daytime hours. The position works closely with the Chef Manager and kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared safely, served efficiently, and the kitchen remains clean and organized. While dishwashing is part of the job, it is not the primary duty.• Prep food items such as fruits, vegetables, salads, and simple batch ingredients• Assist with serving during lunch when needed• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including wiping surfaces, sweeping, and organizing stations• Support dishwashing on the day our primary dishwasher is off• Restock supplies such as utensils, trays, condiments, and paper goods• Help with end-of-day cleanup to prepare the kitchen for the next school day• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines• Provide friendly, helpful service to students and staff• No nights or weekends• Steady school-day schedule• Enjoy built-in time off during Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Christmas/Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break• Calm, structured school kitchen — not a high-volume restaurant• Friendly, supportive team environment• Meaningful work serving students and contributing to a positive school community• Paid training and clear daily routines• Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English• Ability to perform simple arithmetic• Ability to make correct change and use a basic computation device• Dependable and punctual, with the ability to meet deadlines• Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality• Contributes to a positive and professional work environment• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks• Ability to maintain a clean, sanitary workspace• Follows all food safety requirements and guidelines• Successfully pass a criminal background check• Previous experience in a cafeteria or food service environment• Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe)• Familiarity with school meal program guidelines• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and inventory organization• Clear communication with kitchen staff and school personnel• Efficient handling of food items, utensils, and equipment• Ability to maintain a clean, sanitary workspace• Reliability and consistency in daily routines• Willingness to assist in multiple areas of the kitchen as neededEOE/AA
