Customer Engineer

Mastra is hiring a Customer Engineer to sit at the intersection of production deployment and core framework design — a role split roughly evenly between shipping inside the open-source Mastra framework and working embedded with paying customers who are deploying AI agents into production.On the customer side, you'll partner directly with engineering teams building and shipping agents, helping them move from prototype to reliable production systems — improving reliability, evaluation, monitoring, and scaling as you go, and becoming a trusted expert who spreads best practices across accounts.On the framework side, you'll take what you learn from real customer problems and turn it into concrete improvements to Mastra itself: fixing reliability and performance bottlenecks, building new capabilities, and shaping the product roadmap based on firsthand field experience. This is a hands‑on, full-stack TypeScript engineering position for someone who wants both deep customer exposure and real influence over an open-source product used by thousands of developers. Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI agents alongside customer engineering teams
• Guide customer systems from prototype through production-ready deployment
• Improve reliability, evaluation strategies, monitoring, and scaling practices
• Translate recurring customer challenges into open-source framework improvements
• Fix reliability and performance bottlenecks in Mastra core
• Build new framework capabilities and refine existing features
• Develop deep customer expertise and share best practices across accounts
