Job Details Position: PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Phase 1 Recovery) Location: Binghamton, NY 13905 Start Date: August 17, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370 Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts Shifts Per Week: 4 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM, with a rotating day off On-Call: 1-2 weekday calls per week and every 4th weekend Patient Focus: Ortho, general, vascular, pulmonary, OB/Gyn, ENT, neuro, GU, GI, and cath lab procedures Job Requirements Active RN license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Dysrhythmia exam required Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and airway management skills Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and Phase 1 PACU recovery preferred Ability to provide care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-moving acute care environment Responsibilities Provide comprehensive Phase 1 PACU care for post-operative patients in a hospital setting Monitor airway status, oxygen therapy, drips, pain levels, and hemodynamic stability Assess patient condition before, during, and after recovery to support optimal outcomes Deliver individualized patient care with strong attention to safety, comfort, and recovery goals Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support smooth patient transitions Prepare patients for discharge from recovery or transfer to the appropriate level of care Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and quality patient care Why Consider This PACU Travel Nurse Job?
