Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will have a strong focus on General Ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting . The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, organized, and comfortable working independently in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain assigned General Ledger accounts , ensuring accuracy and completeness. Prepare and post monthly journal entries , including accruals, prepaid expenses, reclassifications, and other adjusting entries. Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Support the month-end and year-end close process , ensuring deadlines are consistently met. Review General Ledger activity for accuracy and identify unusual or incorrect transactions. Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting. Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet and income statement accounts. Perform bank and other account reconciliations as needed. Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations , where applicable. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash-related accounting activities as needed. Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation to external auditors. Help ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP . Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures. Perform additional accounting and financial analysis projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience , with strong General Ledger experience. Solid understanding of accounting principles and GAAP . Strong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies. Strong Excel skills; experience with an ERP/accounting system required. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet close deadlines. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus but not required.
