JR Maintenance Technician

Location: Melrose Park, IL 60160

Pay Rate: $24.00/hr

Shift: 1st: 7AM-3:30PM

Position: JR Maintenance Technician

Shift: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm M - F Plus OT

Location: Elk Grove Village

Pay: $22 - 24 hr based on Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Services and maintains all machinery and equipment (punch presses, press brakes, lasers, plasmas, tube benders, HVAC, etc.)
• Learns to operate and break down all machinery
• Researches, orders and inventories all parts and tooling necessary for machinery
• Participates in preventative maintenance and repairs of machines in all of the facilities
• Designs, builds and installs special projects
• Gathers information on various subjects to find a more affordable and/or efficient way to do things with machines or areas
• Tracks maintenance related items in FIIX software
• Performs other job related tasks as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Ability to drive between 5 local manufacturing plants (located in Melrose Park and Elk Grove Village). Must have acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read tape measure and convert fractions to decimal measurements
• Ability to read and use measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers
• Ability to operate various tools, machinery and equipment
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must be motivated and team-oriented
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and other departments
• Ability to read and follow blueprints
• Off-hours work may be required for preventative and other maintenance related work (nights and weekends)

Education/Training/Experience:

• High School degree or equivalent
• Proven experience in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility is highly desirable
• Experience with electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic and mechanical a definite plus
• HVAC and/or electrical experience preferred
• Familiarity with HVAC/R systems, high voltage equipment, and general mechanical systems is essential
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with team members and management
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
