Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project, the full-time Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will oversee security engineering, architecture, and compliance activities remotely while providing technical direction to security teams and ensuring adherence to federal security requirements. Key responsibilities Define and lead security architecture and engineering standards across complex enterprise environments Provide technical leadership to Information Systems Security Officers and Engineers, focusing on compliance and continuous monitoring Oversee risk assessments, security strategy, and vulnerability management while ensuring compliance with Zero Trust and federal security policies Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification Five years of security-engineering experience in Agile, DevSecOps, and cloud-based projects Extensive knowledge of ATOs, System Security Plans, and federal security policies Hands-on experience with application security testing and incident response architectures Virtual Vocations Inc
