Materials Engineer

Experis Santa Clarita, CA 91355 Our client, a motorsports engineering organization, is seeking a Materials Engineer to join their team. As a Materials Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team supporting materials development, laboratory analysis, metallurgical evaluations, and failure investigations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Materials Engineer Location: Santa Clarita, CA (Onsite) Pay Range: $38/hr - $55/hr What’s the Job? Develop and update raw material specifications and support manufacturing, problem resolution, and material/process needs. Perform laboratory analysis on engine components and conduct metallurgical evaluations and failure investigations. Prepare metallurgical samples, including cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching for analysis. Conduct microscopic and macroscopic examinations and prepare reports with findings, conclusions, and corrective action recommendations. Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment and support advanced materials and process qualification activities. What’s Needed? BS degree in Science or Engineering (preferably Materials Science) or equivalent experience. 2–3 years of Materials Engineering experience. Knowledge of material specifications, material testing procedures, and the ability to read engineering drawings and standard codes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and analysis skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
