Early Childhood Teacher Pickens Forest Acres Elementary School – Easley, South Carolina Classification Title: Early Childhood Teacher 26‑27 SDPC Teacher Salary Schedule 190 Days / 7.5 Hours per day This position is for the 26‑27 school year and requires SC Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education. Essential Functions Maintain awareness of best practices and current research on instruction, instructional technology, and related research that enhances and improves instruction Plan and develop effective strategies to increase student achievement by addressing individual learning differences Carry out any other duties related to the instructional program as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or his/her designee Have knowledge regarding curriculum, subject content and developmental needs of students in order to offer appropriate learning experiences Use data to gauge student progress and guide instruction Communicate with students, faculty, and community Provide a safe, student-centered environment that is educationally stimulating and respectful Advocate a professional manner and participate in professional development opportunities that promote proficiency in your field Provide students with activities that deliver calculable results on recognized standards Work collaboratively with others Accept individual differences among children Maintain good physical and mental health Pass the Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) requirements Handle unforeseen situations in accordance with policy Assist students boarding and departing from school buses Responsibilities Plan at the beginning of the school year for the organization and sequence of instructional content and prepare the classroom learning environment Supervise/monitor students during lunch, assemblies, arts, field trips, recess, etc. as appropriate Ensure correct implementation of students’ IEP goals and objectives Prepare instructional objectives for lessons considering individual IEP goals and objectives Clarify instruction goals for students Present new content in a stimulating manner at the appropriate rate and level of difficulty Manage classroom time to ensure success in goals Maintain confidentiality of students, especially regarding IEP and record information Assist with discipline procedures for student behavior Maintain individual records for each student Guide students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults Organize instruction to provide a structured learning environment Keep lesson plans updated in case of a substitute Perform other duties as assigned by Building Administrator(s) All candidates must be able to pass an extensive background investigation before being hired.
