Plumber II (S) Agency: Adult Correction Division (COO – OPS – Institutions Operations). Position Number: 60064015. Grade: NC08. About the Role Reporting directly to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV, the primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, alter, and repair plumbing systems and components at the journey level of the plumbing trade. Responsibilities Possessing working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of commercial plumbing, as well as safety precautions of the plumbing trade. Using power tools associated with plumbing trade, cutting and threading pipe, utilizing motorized and mechanical tools, and being familiar with building, life, and safety codes. Soldering copper pipe and utilizing the standard tools and materials required for those types of procedures. Making material list(s) for projects and submitting to supervisor for review. Making up lead joints and installing various types of plastic pipe, also knowledge in replacing stainless steel and porcelain plumbing fixtures. Supervising semi-skilled male offenders and subject to emergency call back. Qualifications High school diploma or GED with two years of experience in the repair, replacement, or construction of piping systems, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of plumbing systems. Required: based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission. Salary Salary Range: $39,244 – $68,679.
