Job Title: Spec, Technical Writing Job Code: 39730 Job Location: Greenville, TX (On-Site) Job Schedule: 1 st Shift 9/80 Job Description: Technical Publications is a unified team of professionals committed to providing quality and timely publication deliverables for commercial and government projects in a dynamic environment. Team members are responsible for gathering, composing, and editing technical information to prepare flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation for our warfighters. Essential Functions: Prior experience authoring Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), technical maintenance manuals, Flight Operation Manuals, and in an S1000D environment for Air Force programs. Working knowledge of or experience with Rivet Joint/Cobra Ball/Combat Sent Mission system architecture and mission profile. Working knowledge of Rivet Joint/Cobra Ball/Combat Sent Mission system equipment and maintenance. Operational knowledge of Rivet Joint/Cobra Ball/Combat Sent Mission system is a must. Interpret engineering drawings, wire lists, schematics, hardware specifications, software requirements specifications, software interface control documents, test procedures. Conduct interviews with engineering personnel to ensure the technical documentation is precise, comprehensive, and meets professional/MIL standards. Works under general supervision. May be responsible for entire projects or processes within job area. May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. May manage projects at this level with responsibility for the delegation of work and the review of others' work product. Must be able to work well with colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external customers. Must be able to work within and potentially lead defined budgets and meet schedule deadlines. Strong computer skills with solid understanding of MS Office Suite and applications. Familiarity with S1000D Standard, Webex authoring, and Localized CSDB desired. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of technical authoring of Interactive electronic technical manuals (IETM), technical maintenance manuals, Flight Operation Manuals, in an S1000D environment for Air Force programs. Graduate Degree with two (2) years of technical authoring of Interactive electronic technical manuals (IETM), technical maintenance manuals, Flight Operation Manuals, in an S1000D environment for Air Force programs. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of technical authoring of Interactive electronic technical manuals (IETM), technical maintenance manuals, Flight Operation Manuals, in an S1000D environment for Air Force programs.
