Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic Location: Vernon, CA, US Experience Level: Senior Level Salary: $25 - $35 per hour Job Details One year certificate from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Responsibilities Ability to work independently; or as part of a team; has good reasoning abilities and demonstrates sound judgment • Demonstrate application of principles, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial/mechanical equipment and machinery • Read and interpret plans, specifications, manuals and blueprints Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines Meticulous attention to detail Ability to adapt, troubleshoot, research solutions and make recommendations to improve work efficiencies Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of the system Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as scales or programmable controllers Sets up and operates machine tools such as band saw, grinder, drill, and router machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts Must observe all safety rules and wear all safety equipment provided or required by the company Writes work orders and orders parts if necessary Must be able to communicate with “Tech Support” as needed Must be familiar with the following equipment: Tig welder, welder, plasma cutter, grinder, band saw, drill, press, cutting torch, electric meter, (amprobe), air tools, hammer, jack hammer, gear pullers About us We started as a small poultry farm that raised chickens for the local supermarkets.
