The Maintenance Mechanic is a key technical resource responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex print machinery and equipment. This position focuses on equipment reliability, root cause analysis, and preventative maintenance to support continuous production, improve uptime, and maintain safety and quality standards. What You’ll Do: Provide mechanical and electrical support. Assist operators and supervisors. Read and understand basic electrical control schematics, diagrams, manuals and electrical prints to repair machinery/equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance programs or take a proactive approach to minimizing downtime and improving production equipment reliability. Perform minor plant maintenance duties including replacing air conditioning filters, inspecting fire extinguishers, replacing light bulbs, maintaining company tools in the tool crib, minor machine maintenance, painting, carpentry, errands to pick up parts, and working with experienced maintenance personnel on large‑scale jobs. What You Bring: High School diploma or equivalency. 3-5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a print, manufacturing, or packaging environment, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems. Troubleshooting expertise across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Forklift certification or experience required. Baler experience preferred but not required. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and work orders to support complex equipment repairs. Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Physical Requirements: Walking 20%, Standing 80%. Lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying 25–50 lbs. and more. Ability to stand for extended periods. Safely move materials weighing 500–750 lbs. Using manual pallet trucks. Lift, move, and position materials throughout the workday and safely operate warehouse equipment for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials.
