The Opportunity Our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team is growing exponentially. As a Senior in our Technical Accounting Advisory Group (TAAG), you will play a key role in that growth. Working across all industries, you will develop your career by communicating creative, strategic goals both internally and externally. It’s all about listening to and understanding our clients to give them a truly exceptional experience in a field where there are no off‑the‑shelf recommendations. As part of our TAAG, you will help companies manage complex financial and accounting issues relating to consolidation and joint ventures, IPOs, business combinations, compensation, revenue recognition, derivatives, hedging, debt vs. equity, SEC reporting, leases, and more. This highly visible role allows you to work with a broad set of clients across the US firm, interacting directly with our FAAS, audit teams, and clients. This is a truly unique opportunity to learn technical accounting at a faster rate and deeper level. Your Key Responsibilities The nature of this role means no two projects will be the same. You will need to think on your feet, challenge existing practices, and develop answers to complex issues. You will collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines, building relationships and identifying opportunities to benefit our clients. Occasional travel may be necessary to meet with key clients. Skills and Attributes for Success Consulting with clients on complex and technical accounting issues Collaborating with partners, senior managers and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations Ensuring engagement teams thoroughly understand clients’ unique needs, ambitions and expectations Building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless, integrated service Managing performance and identifying opportunities to improve products and processes Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, CPA certification and 2 to 5 years of work experience, preferably as an auditor in a public accounting firm Strong technical writing and presentation skills Strong project management and time management skills Thorough understanding of US GAAP Exposure to or interest in complex technical accounting topics is a plus Understanding of marketplace terminology, processes and tools Proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high‑performing colleagues Confidence to research and resolve emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary Access to reliable transportation to and from the EY office and client sites; a driver’s license is strongly recommended What We Look For We seek versatile people who can take on new responsibilities and listen to clients to get things done. What We Offer A comprehensive compensation and benefits package with a base salary range of $90,800 to $149,800 for all US locations. For New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) the range is $109,000 to $170,200. Individual salaries are determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. The Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, a pension and 401(k) plan, and a wide range of paid time off options. A team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model, with most external, client‑serving roles working together in person 40–60% of the time during an engagement, project or year.
