Nurse Manager - Full time, Days - Med/Surg (Kahn 4) - Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center

Job Description Nurse Manager Responsible for leading and implementing programs that support non‑physician clinical staff with orientation and competency assessment to promote standardized clinical workflow and optimal patient care. Evaluates performance, provides feedback and mentors, develops education programs, contributes to staff professional development, and provides oversight of Environment of Care (EOC) and Infection Prevention (IP) in collaboration with the IP departments. Principal Accountabilities Identifies the clinical and professional development needs of nursing staff, plans and provides education in area of expertise. Develops and provides educational programs and conferences for staff, other departments, and community. Plans, and implements quality improvement programs for both clinical education and environment of care. Works with staff to identify interventions needed to successfully implement workflow changes. Reviews patient and staff data to measure the effectiveness of patient care. Works with senior leadership, interdisciplinary teams and other stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services in alignment with the system. Addresses issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment. Maintains clinical and non‑clinical guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. Promotes and maintains a safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations. Provides assistance from other health‑care professionals within the system and from regulatory agencies. Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection‑control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Maintains and collaborates among health‑care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem‑solving methods. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field. Certification in BLS and a valid NJ nursing license. Relevant Experience 5 years of clinical, management experience in an ambulatory setting or relevant area. Preferred Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
